Since 1992, RISD has partnered with the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Projects from this partnership were awarded patents and are commercially available today, such as the Sherwin Williams Twist and Pour paint container, which received numerous accolades including The Good Housekeeping Institute Award.

Both MIT and RISD were selected in Businessweek's D-Schools: The Global List, noted for over 15 years of collaboration.
